About the airline
Comair is a British Airways franchisee and offers domestic flights in South Africa. They also manage a budget airline in South Africa under the Kulula.com brand. The airline was founded in 1943 as Commercial Air Services. Their first flights was on 15 June 1946 using a Fairchild F-24/UC-61K Argus Mk 3 aircraft as well as a Cessna Model 195. When Mr Donald Novick joined the company in 16961 he soon expanded the fleet of 2 Douglas aircraft to include jet aircraft and grew the staff complement from 50 to over 2000 staff today. In 2001, co-founders Gidon Novick and Eric Venter founded the low-cost airline Kulula which has maintained its status as market leader.
The airline has a pristine operational record with 63 years of profitability and an immaculate safety record. Today they are owned and managed by various South Africans through its listing on the JSE.
Comair covers the following destinations under the British Airways brand:

Regulated by the South African Civil Aviation Authority, Comair currently operates a fleet comprising of 26 Boeing aircraft. Eighteen of these are owned by the company and 8 are being leased from leasing-companies. All of the equipment have to adhere to a high standard of maintenance in order to ensure a safe environment for travelers.
